Mobidisc®

Lumbar disc prosthesis

Nucleus with controlled mobility to match physiological bio-mechanical movememnts

The first of second generation
of lumbar disc prothesis

Adapts to the instantaneous
rotation center

Mobidisc® System :

• Self centering prosthesis

• Reduce the stress on the posterior articular process

• Anterior or antéro-lateral access with the same prosthesis

Non-constraint prosthesis with controlled mobility in all axis

Mobility control
• The Mobidisc® mobile insert is free to move on the entire flat surface of the inferior plate.
• This mobility is self-controlled by the compression of the implant.
• The peripheral stops control and limit the mobility of the mobile insert

Perfect congruence between plates and mobile insert
• The contact surface is optimized and perfectly balanced between the flat and spherical surfaces.
• Perfect congruence between the superior part of the mobile insert and the inferior part of the superior plate.
• Flat on flat contact between the inferior part of the mobile insert and the superior part of the inferior plate.

Respect of the instantaneous rotation center

Self-centered prosthesis (rotation / translation principle)
• The mobile insert naturally finds it’s ideal balance position according to the constraint applied by the self-centring of the mobile insert on the inferior plate (by rotation / translation) and self-adjustment of the superior plate positioning versus the inferior plate (thus avoiding any risk of retrolysthesis).

Physiological movements
• Every movement of the superior plate induces a mobile insert re-positionment on the inferior plate which maintains the superior versus inferior vertebra alignment (no risk of ante or retrolysthesis).

Flexion - Extension + ET - 12°
Latéral blending + ET - 10°
Rotation + ET - 6°
Mobile insert rotation 2,5 MM / AXIS

Reduced constraints
On the posterior articular facet joint.
At the bone/implant interface (origin of dislocation).

Increase of implant life time
The mobility of the mobile insert induces better load-sharing.

Sterility and traceability

Sterile packaging
All the Mobidisc® prosthesis are delivered in sterile packaging, under double blister pack with sterilisation control stickers.

Mechanical property guarantee
• Sterile packaging is the guarantee of a new implant. It ensures its harmlessness and perfect operational condition.

Absolute traceability
This type of packaging ensures absolute traceability right up to the patient. Each implant is therefore traceable right from the initial manufacturing step to the final implantation.

Implant rack
• As with all LDR implants, Mobidisc® benefits of a new distribution system for the operating room. This exclusive LDR Medical system allows for a simple and reliable management of your implants in the operating room. The stock assessment becomes fast and easy.
