LDR Spine™ Hosts Presentations on European Surgeon Clinical Results of Second-Generation Artificial Discs in Washington, D.C.

Spine Company Sponsors European Surgeon Presentations During the
Week of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Meeting

Austin, TX - February 17, 2005
LDR Spine, a total spine solution company, will sponsor the clinical presentations of two French surgeons, Thursday evening, February 24th and Friday evening, February 25th, at 6:30pm at the Hotel Helix, just minutes away from the Washington DC Convention Center, site of this year’s meeting of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

The well-respected French surgeons, Drs. Jacques Beaurain and Thierry Dufour, will share their clinical experience using second-generation artificial discs for both lumbar and cervical applications.  Though these products are not available in the U.S., they have already been implanted in over 150 patients in Europe.  These products boast an impressive intellectual property position and a unique design that offers six degrees of freedom not available in other artificial disc implants.

Steve Whitlock, president and CEO of LDR Spine comments:  “We are excited to have these surgeons here to speak about their experience with LDR Medical products.  While there is currently significant attention focused on first-generation artificial discs, we are committed to developing spine solutions that address the six-degree of freedom motion issue in artificial disc replacement surgery.”
