LDR receives approval to market two new stand-alone spine products in China
Approval for VerteBRIDGE® products for the China market is a substantial milestone for LDR
Austin, TX (December 2, 2011)
LDR, a privately held medical device company offering innovative spinal
implants for both non-fusion and fusion applications, announced that it has
received approval to market two innovative spine device systems in China.
The ROI-C® Cervical Cage and the ROI-A® ALIF Cage, both featuring
VerteBRIDGE® Plating Technology, and with over 17,000 implantations combined
worldwide, are now available to Chinese surgeons.
Christophe Lavigne, CEO of LDR observes, “China is one of the fastest
growing device markets today and represents a significant opportunity for
LDR. Following the successful launch of the Mobi-C® Cervical Artificial Disc
into the China market in 2009, these new product approvals allow LDR to
provide our surgeon customers in China with the best technology on the
market today. LDR China has direct offices in Beijing and Shanghai to
support the needs of our Chinese surgeon customers.”
The ROI-C Cage for the cervical spine and the ROI-A ALIF Cage for the lumbar
spine address the growing interest in the market for stand-alone fusion
technology that may reduce the need for additional anterior or posterior
instrumentation. Both cages, when used with the company’s integrated
VerteBRIDGE plating technology, offer a zero profile, stand-alone fusion
construct.
Prof. Nie Lin, (Qi Lu hospital of Shangdong University) comments, “The
curved plating technology allows me to work very effectively through a
small, straight anterior incision. The zero profile design assures that
there is no hardware protruding anterior of the vertebral bodies, which I
see as a real benefit for both single and multi-level indications.”
LDR was founded in 2000 by partners Christophe Lavigne, Hervé Dinville and
Patrick Richard in Troyes, France. Currently headquartered in Austin, TX,
LDR has experienced rapid growth through product portfolio expansion and an
increasingly global presence. LDR develops unique implantable spine devices
and instrumentation designed to support the clinical goals of surgery while
making procedures easier to perform. More information is located at
