LDR opens direct sales channel in Germany
Direct sales office in Germany strengthens LDR’s position in large European market.
Austin, TX (March 18, 2009)
LDR Holding, a total spine solution company, announced today
that on January 1, 2009 it established a direct sales
channel in Germany. LDR has successfully worked with the
independent distributor KRAUTH Spine since 2006 to market
their spinal devices on the German market. With increasing
opportunity and success LDR and KRAUTH determined the need
for expanding LDR’s presence through the creation of a
direct sales presence. LDR and KRAUTH collaborated closely
in the development of this strategy.
Christophe Lavigne, CEO of LDR, comments, “Germany has
evolved into a very important market for LDR. Working with
KRAUTH has allowed us to grow and mature in this market and
it is now the time to solidify that growth and ensure future
success through the establishment of a direct LDR presence.
The LDR Germany sales office works in very close
collaboration with our office in Troyes, France and is
prepared and enthusiastic to support our surgeon customers
in Germany.”
Mr. Stefan Widensohler, principal of KRAUTH Spine and member
of LDR’s Board of Directors, highlights, “Germany is the key
European spine market and it is critical for the success of
LDR to be there through a direct entity at this time. KRAUTH
Spine is proud to have been the first to introduce LDR’s
innovative technology in Germany, especially the Mobi-C®
cervical artificial disc.”
LDR plans to introduce 4 new product lines in Germany this
year to complete its product offering: The ROI-A™ (ALIF) and
ROI-C™ (cervical) cages* with VerteBRIDGE™ plating
technology, The ROI-T TLIF application and the next
generation Mobi-C® Plug & Fit cervical artificial disc**.
LDR plans to use its strong position in the French market to
support its growth strategy in Germany by facilitating the
exchange of LDR clinical experience between German and
French spine surgeons.
LDR works closely with surgeons to develop implantable spine
systems and instrumentation that restore optimum stability
and mobility to patients and to make spine surgery more
reproducible and easier to perform. More information is
located at
www.ldrmedical.com.
*In the United States, ROI-C is cleared for use as a partial
vertebral body replacement.
**The Mobi-C artificial disc is not available in the United States.
