Research and Innovation

LDR surveys current spine products, taps into the experience of skilled surgeons to define existing obstacles, and then looks outside-the-box for new solutions that will revolutionize the way we treat spinal pathologies. This pairing of surgical, engineering, and peak technology is the “soul” of LDR. In cooperation with the worldwide spine surgeon community, LDR promotes new ideas which are the basis of tomorrow’s technological
progress.

Innovating
As LDR’s innovative fusion products gained market share, LDR simultaneously developed a second-generation artificial disc platform technology to build upon the initial success of devices such as the ProDisc® and the Charité®. LDR knew that while these systems were good, they had been developed more than ten years ago which opened up opportunities for improvement resulting in the birth of Mobidisc® and Mobi-C®.

Notable Achievements
LDR was the first to market such leading edge surgical concepts as:

• Mobile core artificial disc technology with six degrees of freedom with the Mobi-C and Mobidisc better replicates anatomical movement.

• Integrated polyaxial locking mechanism of the Easyspine® pedicle screw system.

• Seventy degree range of motion from the Easyspine LP Multiaxial Screw, specially designed for spondylolisthesis reduction.

• Easyspine’s flattened rod offers a mechanically optimized connection with three types of rod rigidity that is interchangeable between screws.

• Self-anchoring cervical device with secure clip of the MC+®.

• Guiding technology for Mobidisc lumbar artificial disc.

• Standardized sterile packaging for all implants including our pedicle screw system.

CAUTION: The Mobi-C™ artificial disc is an Investigational Device and is limited to investigational use in the United States. The Mobi-L™ (Mobidisc®) is not available in the United States.
